One of the things I discovered when I became an Episcopalian is that the Season of Christmas actually lasts for … twelve days.
Just like the song! Who knew?

At Hope Episcopal Church, one of the celebrations that has become important to us is doing the “Live Nativity Scene”

Not a complicated big production, but we invite the children of the church and of the neighborhood to gather with us on the lawn and sing some Christmas Carols while we tell each other the story of the birth of Jesus, inviting the children to play the parts of Angels, Wise Men, Shepherds, Mary, Joseph, etc.

We try to find a few sheep and other animals to round out the stable (or I might get handed a donkey suit!) AND we are holding out in great hope for a Camel some year (Who knows – It could be this year. DO NOT MISS IT!)
